The Hunslet 0-6-0 diesel hydraulic shunters were produced in several batches between the 1960s and 1980s. They featured a six-cylinder supercharged Rolls Royce C6SFL power unit which is capable of producing 325 bhp. The design was utilised by various industrial railways who required versatile 0-6-0 diesels to operate on sharp or uneven trackwork. The National Coal Board operated 20 examples, with others in use with paper mills, fuel companies and power stations. They have also been used by spot-hire companies and some can still be seen in use today. |
