Shellstar bogie rail vans were used by the UKF Fertiliser company to transport fertiliser from Ince, Cheshire, to many UK locations. They could be seen in various liveries during the 1970s - 1990s including the later Kemira. These vans were introduced in 1968 and built by Gloucester RCW with curtain sides. However, this was unsuccessful and Chas Roberts rebuilt them to have side doors in 1970 - 71. More were then built with doors from new. The traffic was lost in Jan. 1993 and the vans were scrapped in 1994. |
