The first coaches to be fully designed by the LMS, 24 of these 68' 12 wheel first class dining cars were constructed to different diagrams, Dia.1718 and Dia.1810. Known as Period II coaches, they were often seen in express services throughout the Midlands and North West of England, and survived into BR days, with the last vehicles not being withdrawn until 1962. |
