The fleet of HYA (later IIA) wagons were built in several batches in both Romania and the UK. Almost 400 of these high capacity hoppers were delivered for coal transportation duties across the network. The fleet were developed initially for First/ GBRf to challenge EWS and Freightliner in the coal business. The then new 'Fastline Freight' also ordered their own batch of wagons, delivered in 2008. Some wagons were re-fitted for use on biomass traffic and after the introduction of a new carbon tax in 2015, many of the wagons were redeployed on aggregate trains.
