The 20t vans formed the first break from Midland Railway design practice at the LMS with the introduction of guard lookout duckets on the side of the vans. There were several different versions produced but in total the LMS built thousands of 20t vans for use across their network. Under British Railways, more of the design were produced, with the majority of the BR produced ones being withdrawn in the 1980s. |
