Over 1000 of these shunters have been built since the first was produced nearly fifty years ago. Seen all over the UK, and in many different liveries, the new Hornby example catches perfectly the workmanlike appearance of these hard working locomotives. Powered by a type 7 motor located on an SSPP chassis the weathered 08 is certainly a must for most BR model railway layouts.
