631 was one of twenty trams built by the Brush Company of Loughborough. It was originally numbered 294 and entered service in Blackpool in August 1937. For many years it was based at Bispham depot and worked between Blackpool North Station and Fleetwood. Today, the tram is one of three Brush cars to have been given a major overhaul which has included modern fittings, bus seats and high intensity headlights (the other two are 626 and 630). For the 2003 season the tram was painted into an advert livery for The Laughing Donkey Family Bar which is located on South Pier. The pier itself was built in 1893 and 429 feet long (originally called Victoria Pier).
